You know that feeling of inspiration? When a project idea comes to you, and you're in love with it already? You may not know how it's all going to come together, but you had a vision, and you're sold!
Or not.
For a long while, I was collecting scraps of vintage doubleknit fabric. I liked the individual pieces somewhat, and I pictured them melding into an extremely hip creation. Instead, I got this:
Which looks like the 70s threw up on my kitchen floor. I tried to like it, but the only emotion it grabs is sympathy for my lost time and energy. Now I have a scrap rug that will never wear off its ugliness. It's currently in the garage, but if someone wants to make an offer.....

Too bad it will NEVER wear out... :)
Awww....Joyce all your hard work...but sorry I kinda have to agree with you, It's garage material.
that would sell really well at our quilt show down here...lots of old ladies shop there...haha...it's not so bad...in the garage....
I see a completed project and to me that looks beautiful! Maybe you should try ebay...
SA-WEEEEEEEEEEEEEET Moses.
Haha! The putting together part is absolutely stunning!
I kind of feel sorry for the poor rug. It has potential...not saying I want it or anything though. :)
I think the rug looks good. Sometimes, if you have a clear vision in your mind at the start and it ends up being something different to that, you can miss seeing the good stuff :)
it's probably not what you planned but, I think it's cute. What site are you planning on selling it on?
Guess it's that whole eyes of the beholder thing.
Joyce, it's a good thing my mom isn't online, because she would L-O-V-E that rug and get it from you lickety split. Not that that would be that bad of a thing, er...sorry. Good sewing though!
I think you should sell it on ETSY.com. It would look adorable with matching decor. It is cute, you are too hard on yourself.
If that's washable, it would make a fab tent doormat/ rug...
I can't believe I just looked at this again.
OMG I LOVE this Rug!
What are you selling it for?
What, not Why!
Let me know PLEASE!

I rarely like mixed colors for anything, but I actually like your rug. It would even go with my blue and white curtains in the kitchen or in the bathroom with the blue shower curtain.
