Mixed Reactions

We are home, and all doing well. Jack is a terrific eater and a wonderful sleeper. He's been waking up twice a night to eat voraciously and then fall back into a milk coma. He stays awake for a little while after daytime feedings, and has just been a sweetie so far. We hope he stays that way.

Here I am the morning of my induction, 40 weeks plus 2 days, ready to be done with the whole deal.

Here is Helen on her first visit to see baby Jack. Not very happy with life.
A trip to the candy machine with a treat of peanut M&Ms helped. Peanut M&Ms can solve a lot of problems.
Grandmas can solve a lot of problems too.
Helen still does not want to hold her brother, but will allow him to be in Mommy's lap while she is there too. Baby steps....

Owen, on the other hand, is delighted with baby Jack. "Baby Jack came out of Mommy's tummy!!"

So fun to hear how things are going and all the new changes that are taking place in your home.

I'm sure Helen will come around and be a little mommy to her new baby brother with time.

I love the picture of Owen holding little Jack...very sweet!

My arms are really aching to hold my new nephew!

Gabriel wondered if Helen was eating "too much M&M's or just some M&M's?" He also declared he wanted to see Owen, as in meet Owen, and wanted to know how we were going to go find him. :) I said "sometime".

You looked great pregnant. You still look great. :) Have fun with that busy brood of yours... :) :) :)

I agree. You looked GREAT at 40 weeks pregnant! You looked like it was your first, not your third.

Glory had lots of trouble with Malachi. She loves hom but still gets jealous and she not safe with him...lots of whacks on the head and squeezing body parts as hard as she can. Just recently I heard again that it's bad at first and then it gets better. Then at 6 weeks there's another outburst (I can vouch for that) and then at 6 months there's another outburst..I'll have to wait and see on that one.

Wow, I'm really not giving you much hope for Helen am I? Hopefully she'll at least want to get near him soon. :)

Sorry, Grandma just has to smile. It will take lots of adjusting, but you'll be okay and so will Helen. To tell the truth, I really don't remember a lot of such with our kids, so likely time is a great healer of memories as well! Love to everyone!

Joyce, thank you for posting a pregnant picture. It was so fun to see "before" and "after". You are so cute pregnant.

We also saw Isabella at her very worst after Jack was born. We were in Wal-mart (one week check up after Jack was born) and she threw herself on the floor and kicked her feet. First time ever for her. We couldn't believe our eyes. But she came around and so will Helen. It's just hard for them to adjust to not being the princess. It's so good for them to have a sibling in so many ways.

Sure loved the pictures Joyce. I wish I could kiss little Jack. He sure is sweet.

Great pics Joyce!! We are finally out of the "woods" and back to internet access :). He is such a cutie and I can't wait to hold him. Blake was fascinated with who that baby was that Owen was holding :). Glad he is a good baby so far and I hope he cont with that. Jan

Those pictures are awesome! No one should look like you did at 40 weeks; you looked fabulous then and right after birth...I love the pix of Owen and Jack, and Owen and Helen, and Helen, dad, and her M&M's...Miss y'all and Tashia and I are planning a lil road trip in a bit...Joanne

It's always a pleasure to see what is new on your clothesline.

Baby Jack makes another charming addition to your family collection.

Hope all of you are doing well!
