New Skirt

Here's a skirt I made for myself, using fabric and bias tape from Heather and a vintage (never used) zipper from Leslie's grandmother's collection. I made sure to hand-sew a hook and eye above the zipper, so that I wouldn't have another unfortunate experience like I had a few years ago.......that involved church and a slippery red skirt with an easy-open zipper......in front of God and everybody. I didn't want to turn on the light in the room, because Jack was sleeping on the bed, but it is a rich shade of orange.

Nice skirt, Joyce! I'm pretty proud of you. Yes, I saw the red skirt show, too. It wtill makes me smile, but I recall how well you & Jason handled the whole thing. Lots of love, Mom

You are so creative Joyce!!! I knew you would do something wonderful with that fabric! Great work.

Now what's the story with the red skirt? Or shall I ask your mama?

Very cute! You make me want to sew. Do you remember the pillow cases we made for travel pillows for the RBI chorale tour? Maybe that was Lisa?? I still have mine.

P.S. Loved the dishwasher story. :)

Very cute skirt! I had a zipper incident, but it was a jean skirt with a zippered slit in the front. I had to keep an eye on it because before I'd know it there'd be leg and thigh and such showing All Over the place. :(

And Sabrina, I remember the pillow cases. In fact, I still have mine -- Looney Toons in all their glory -- it was a gift from my secret sister at the time, Lisa.

Cute skirt, Joyce! Yes, Sabrina and Joy, it was me who made the pillow cases. I just sold the last ones at a garage sale this year. :)
